Betfred are one of the most active sponsors of sport in and around the UK with a wide variety of sports and tournaments under the famous red and blue banner.

In 2017, Betfred began a three year period as the main and title sponsor of Rugby League’s Super League. The league is the northern hemisphere’s premier Rugby League competition featuring 12 teams spread across England whilst also featuring the Catalans Dragons who are based in Perpignan, France. The season finishes with the Grand Final that has been held at Old Trafford since 1998. The current champions are St Helens who defeated Catalans Dragons in October 2021. Betfred also sponsor Championship and League 1 as well as the Womens Super League. Betfred recently extended their sponsorship of all tournaments to 2023.

Betfred sponsored the World Snooker Championships between the years of 2009-2012. In 2015 it was announced that we were to once again become the sponsors of the tournament and increase the winner’s prize money to £425,000. The current champion is Mark Selby who defeated Shaun Murphy in August 2021 to win his 4th World Snooker Championship. Betfred will continue to sponsors the tournament until at least 2022.

In November 2018, Betfred signed a three-year deal to sponsor the World Matchplay Darts at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool between July 20-28th . The tournament will be shown live on Sky Sports. Prize money for the event was increased to a record £700,000 with the Winner taking home the Phil Taylor Trophy and a cheque for £150,000. The current champion is Peter Wright who defeated Dimitri Van den Bergh.

In March 2019, The European Tour announced Betfred as the new title sponsor of the British Masters. The agreement, for an initial two years, marks another new chapter for the historic tournament, which has been a popular part of the European Tour’s Race to Dubai for the past four seasons. The 2021 tournament took place at The Belfry and was hosted by Masters Champions and Ryder Cup hero Danny Willett. Richard Bland shot a -13 score and battled through a playoff with Italian opponent Guido Migliozzi to take home the trophy. The 48 year old from Burton Upon Trent had been without a win in a tournament for nearly 23 years. Betfred were also proud to donate £19,000 to Prostate Cancer after host Danny Willet hit 19 birdies in the tournament.

Betfred announced a major partnership with Ascot Racecourse in May 2019 to become the official bookmaker of Ascot & Royal Ascot between the years of 2019-2021. The partnership means that Betfred will have operation of the two on course shops within the Grandstand at the world famous Berkshire track as well as the Betfred Heritage Handicap run on Summer Mile Day and become official bookmaker sponsor of the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Day. Royal Ascot is one of the most prestigious weeks in world Racing running from Tuesday to Saturday and including worldwide stakes races including the St James’s Palace Stakes and the historic Ascot Gold Cup.
