Betfred Annouces Multi-Year Partnership With Sky

Betfred and Sky have agreed a multi-year deal to roll out Sky Sports across all 1,360 UK high-street shops, meaning Betfred customers can bet on the best live sporting action as it happens.

The complete Sky Sports portfolio of all seven Sky Sports channels including Sky Sports News HQ and Eurosport, will be available in Betfred shops from 1 July.

Betfred will distribute Sky Sports content across its entire estate of shops via the Betfred TV channel. The service will launch in store in time for the new football season when Sky Sports will show 126 live Premier League games including the brand new Friday night slot, alongside exclusive live coverage of the English Football League and EFL Cup, La Liga, SPFL and Scottish Cup including exclusive coverage of Celtic v Rangers clashes.

Betfred Backs Scottish League Cup

The SPFL has today confirmed that blue-chip UK bookmaking company Betfred has agreed a three-year deal to become the exclusive title sponsor of the Scottish League Cup; The Betfred Cup.

The agreement represents another significant investment into Scottish football with Betfred assuming its rights ahead of the start of the 2016/17 competition this July, which involves an exciting new format and up to 13 matches shown live on BT Sport.

Betfred, established in 1967 but which has since grown to a 1,400 betting shop and vast online business, has a strong pedigree of sporting sponsorships including existing agreements with the World Snooker Championship and a number of UK racecourses.

Betfred Extend Sponsorship Of World Snooker Championship Until 2019

Betfred, buoyed by another highly successful World Snooker Championship, have extended it’s sponsorship until 2019.

The Betfred World Snooker Championship from the Crucible in Sheffield was watched by an amazing 210 million viewers on broadcaster CCTV5 in China, with Ding Junhui the first player from Asia to reach the final of the sport’s biggest tournament.

Ding eventually lost 18-14 in the pulsating final to Mark Selby, who lifted the trophy for the second.

Leicester based Selby is a big Foxes fan and his triumph came five minutes after his own football heroes were confirmed as unlikely Premier League champions with second-placed Spurs only drawing against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

That only added to the headline-grabbing drama at the end of 17 days of intense competition which attracted a total global TV audience of more than 300 million.

210 Million Chinese Watch Betfred World Snooker Championship

The Betfred World Snooker Championship was watched by 210 million viewers on broadcaster CCTV5 in China.

The tournament finished on Monday 2nd May with Mark Selby winning the title for a second time, beating Ding Junhui 18-14 in the final. China’s Ding became the first Asian player to reach the final of the sport’s biggest tournament.

And his success was closely followed by viewers in his homeland as, across the 17 days of the event, 210 million tuned in.

The afternoon session of the final was watched by over 42 million on CCTV5 on both Sunday and Monday, despite the time difference which meant that coverage ran from after 9pm until after midnight on both days. These were the highest sports audiences for post-prime time programmes in 2016 so far.

The total global audience for the tournament was over 300 million.

Betfred are delighted to donate £25,000 to the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in Sheffield.

Before the start of the Betfred World Snooker Championship the bookmaker pledged £200 for every century scored, but if 70 centuries were reached they would round it up to £25,000.

In the end there were a recording breaking 86 centuries at the Crucible

The standard of snooker was exceptional, and Shaun Murphy’s break of 105 took the total number of centuries to the target of 70.

It was fitting that Murphy was on hand to present the cheque himself following his semi-final victory over Barry Hawkins.

Betfred To Donate To Bluebell Wood

World Championship title sponsor Betfred will donate £200 to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice for every century break made during the 17 days of this year’s tournament.

And if the century tally reaches 70, the donation will be rounded up to £25,000.

The Betfred World Championship runs from April 18 to May 4 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, with 32 of the world’s best players competing for the title.

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in North Anston, Sheffield has been World Snooker’s official charity since 2012.

Betfred boss Fred Done says the betting giants are going to put their ‘heart and soul’ into the upcoming 2015 Betfred World Snooker Championship, which starts on Saturday.

Having previously sponsored snooker’s showcase tournament from 2009-2012, Betfred are making their return to the iconic Crucible Theatre, and Done is delighted to be back.

“If you sponsor any competition, it’s always best to stretch yourself and do the number one competition because that’s the one that counts – and this is the number one competition,” he said.

Betfred To Sponsor World Snooker Championship

Snooker’s biggest tournament, the World Championship, will be title-sponsored by Betfred for the next three years.

The prestigious event will be known as the Betfred World Snooker Championship until at least 2017.

This year’s tournament will run from April 18 to May 4 at the famous Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, with the top 16 seeds joined by 16 qualifiers to chase the £300,000 top prize.

It is one of the greatest events in sport, and last year reached an astonishing audience of over 330 million viewers worldwide, televised live by 12 broadcasters in 80 different countries.
Betfred previously sponsored the tournament from 2009 to 2012.

Bookmakers Betfred have announced The Injured Jockeys Fund’s “Jack Berry House” as their official charity for this year.

Jack Berry House, based in Malton, needs to raise another £1.2 million for this state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility which will provide medical and physiotherapy expertise all designed to improve the rate and level of recovery for injured jockeys.

In addition to the fully equipped gym it will also have an infinity swimming pool for controlled hydro-therapy. It will also provide education and training for current and young aspiring jockeys focusing on physical and mental fitness, fall training and spatial awareness, nutrition, injury management, sports psychology and jockey coaching, all designed to reduce the risk of serious injury.
