A 33/1 success for Colin Tizzard’s Royal Vacation in an eventful Kauto Star Novices Chase at Kempton saw the Scoop6 rollover after just four legs.

A win fund of £387,618 and a bonus fund of £105,034 was up for grabs on a special Boxing Day edition of the popular pool bet.

Earlier on in the afternoon a 12/1 success for Little Bruce, a 7/2 win for the well supported Poker School and a bloodless victory for Definitely Red at 9/2 meant 166 tickets remained at the halfway stage but none had covered the Paddy Brennan ridden 6yo in the Grade One race, perhaps surprisingly considering the yards fine form this season, which means an estimated £750,000 could be up for grabs on New Year’s Day where the ITV camera’s will be showing action from Cheltenham & Musselburgh.

Totepool spokesman Matt Hulmes said “Unfortunately there was no festive cheer for Scoop6 players this Boxing Day but the upshot is a chance to play for around £750,000 on New Years Day and welcome 2017 in style”.

Boxing Day turnover reached £243,242 and there were 48 winners of the place fund which paid £886.80.
