Betfred extends commitment to Championship and League 1 Rugby League

Betfred is to extend its sponsorship of Rugby League’s Championship and League 1 competitions by a further two years – and more than double its annual financial contribution to the game outside Super League.

The announcement means that the leading UK bookmaker will sponsor all three professional tiers of the sport, including the Betfred Super League, until the end of the 2021 season.

Rugby Football League Chief Executive, Ralph Rimmer, said:
“Betfred have been supporting our Championship and League 1 competitions since 2018 and I am delighted that they will continue that support for a further two years. Their energy and enthusiasm off the field mirrors the product on the field, where clubs and players are beginning to gear up for what will be a thrilling play-off series in two vibrant competitions.”

Betfred become official sponsor of RCD Mallorca

RCD Mallorca is proud to announce the world’s biggest independent bookmaker Betfred as the club’s new official main sponsor for the next two seasons.

The famous Betfred brand will be appearing on the match jersey, the training kit and will also feature prominently around the San Moix stadium and Club website.

The United Kingdom based bookmaker has been established for over 50 years and currently operates over 1600 retail outlets and a burgeoning online and mobile presence. Betfred has recently been granted a licence to operate in Spain and the Mallorca deal coincides with the granting of this licence.

Betfred in ground-breaking Women’s Super League tie-in

Betfred has extended its sponsorship of Rugby League to include the women’s game for the first time, as the first title partners of the burgeoning Women’s Super League (WSL).

The ground-breaking deal will run alongside the recent extension of the Betfred Super League partnership until the end of the 2021 season – and sets up a double header of Betfred Super League Grand Finals this autumn.

The Betfred Women’s Super League Grand Final will be played on Friday 11 October at the Totally Wicked Stadium in St Helens – the night before the traditional men’s Super League climax at Old Trafford.

Betfred USA and Elite Casino Resorts Sign Agreement for Iowa Sports Betting Operations

Betfred Enters Spanish Market

Betfred will commence operations in Spain as part of its ongoing expansion strategy.

Betfred bring over 50 years’ experience in the betting industry to the Spanish market, operating over 1600 high street shops in Britain and a rapidly increasing online business.

The bookmaker has been granted licences to operate online sportsbook and casino.

Betfred Group Chief Operating Officer Mark Stebbings said,

Super League & Betfred Announce Record Breaking Deal

Super League and Betfred have today announced the biggest commercial deal in the history of the competition by extending their partnership for a further two seasons.

The multi-million-pound investment by Betfred, owned by Rugby League fan and Salfordian Fred Done, will see the current three-year partnership extended until the end of the 2021 season.

News of the record-breaking deal comes at a time when Betfred Super League is enjoying huge popularity. Last weekend saw the record attendance for a Super League fixture broken when 31,555 people saw the Catalans Dragons overcome Wigan Warriors in a historic first ever Rugby League game at the iconic Nou Camp in Barcelona. This followed a record-breaking aggregate round attendance over the Easter Weekend, when 78,917 fans attended Super League Round 11 fixtures.

Ascot Racecourse Announces Betfred As Official Bookmaker

Ascot Racecourse is pleased to announce that Betfred will be the ‘Official Bookmaker’ of Ascot and Royal Ascot, in a new three-year relationship running from 2019 to 2021.

The contract includes operation of the two on site betting shops within the Grandstand and sponsoring the Betfred Heritage Handicap on Summer Mile Day, 13th July. They will also be official bookmakers of the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup in August, providing prices straight after the draw.

This relationship is an extension of the arrangement that saw Ascot and Totepool, a majority asset of Betfred, launch Bet With Ascot, the on course pool betting service, last year.

Totepool are sponsors of this weekend’s Victoria Cup as the Tote Victoria Cup.

Betfred supports The Tommy Fleetwood Golf Academy

Tommy Fleetwood has launched his own golf academy which aims to provide opportunities for juniors to take up the sport, whilst also helping to broaden the game’s appeal.

The inaugural Tommy Fleetwood Academy will open its doors at Formby Hall Golf Club, where the Ryder Cup star learned to play and it will be led by his first coach, Norman Marshall.

Fleetwood hopes to use his Academy to help to teach youngsters about golf’s discipline and etiquette, whilst also making the game more fun and accessible to kids.

Betfred Donate £25,000 To Jessie May

World Snooker Championship sponsor Betfred has donated £25,000 to Jessie May Children’s Hospice at Home following a bonanza of century breaks during the tournament.

At the start of the 17-day event, Betfred pledged to donate £100 for every century made, with the total to be rounded up to £25,000 if 80 centuries were made. That target has been smashed, with 100 tons made during the tournament for the first time ever.

The cheque was handed to Jessie May Children’s Hospice at Home today, presented by former Crucible king Dennis Taylor.
Judd Trump, who is an ambassador for Jessie May, has made the most centuries during the tournament, with 14, including seven in the final against John Higgins.
