Betfred boss Fred Done says the betting giants are going to put their ‘heart and soul’ into the upcoming 2015 Betfred World Snooker Championship, which starts on Saturday.

Having previously sponsored snooker’s showcase tournament from 2009-2012, Betfred are making their return to the iconic Crucible Theatre, and Done is delighted to be back.

“If you sponsor any competition, it’s always best to stretch yourself and do the number one competition because that’s the one that counts – and this is the number one competition,” he said.

“Everybody knows it doesn’t get better than this. We’re more than proud to do it and we’re going to put our heart and soul into it.

“It’s going to be some competition, I promise you.”

World Snooker chairman Barry Hearn is excited to be joining forces with Betfred once more: “I feel like we’ve come home,” he said.

“For the next three years at least, we are back where we belong with the sponsor that we know cares about snooker.

“Betfred has been known famously for its bonus. There isn’t a special sporting event on the calendar that doesn’t have a Betfred bonus, so you can expect something special coming from our main sponsors.

“On Saturday, with the support of Betfred, we will give you the greatest snooker championship the world has ever seen.”

As well as being the title sponsor for the event which will be watched by more than 300 million people worldwide, Betfred are also committed to supporting the local community in Sheffield.

Mark Pearson, Head of Media, added: “Every century that goes in, and hopefully we’re going to have loads, we’re going to give £200 to the Bluebell Wood Hospice.

“And if we hit 70, we’ll round it up to £25,000. We’re delighted to be back.”

The 2015 Betfred World Snooker Championship gets underway at Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre on Saturday April 18 at 10am.
