Blak day for Scoop6 punters

This afternoon’s totescoop6 rolled over after Blaklion struck in leg five.

Following Royal Bajan’s demolition job in leg three at 33/1, just four tickets remained going into the fifth, with Binge Drinker and Parish Business covered by two tickets each.

But a win for the favourite triggered a rollover of £207,503 in the win fund, while the bonus pool has grown to £167,652.

totepool spokesman Andrew Griffiths said: “It was surprising to see Scoop6 punters struggle on an afternoon littered with small fields, but we’re sure they’ll be back for more next week when the pools could hit £500,000.”

Turnover on this afternoon’s bet was strong, with punters investing £362,704 into the pools.  There were 131 winners of the place fund which returned £484.50.

What a Winner as Punter Scoops Three Quarters of a Million

A battling performance from What A Warrior has landed a single winner over £750,000 in Saturday’s Scoop6.

Dan Skeltons rejuvenated chaser was one of 5 horses each carrying the hopes of single tickets as they lined up for the final leg, the 3.35 Ascot.

The winning ticket holder will have the opportunity to increase their winnings to over £1million by picking the winner of next Saturdays Bonus race, which could be the Betfred November Handicap from Doncaster.

Totepool spokesman Matt Hulmes said: “We are delighted that the Scoop6 was won this afternoon, and we hope to make another millionaire if the bonus is landed next weekend. It did look winnable today, but after long priced winners of the second and third leg, it seemed destined to rollover for another week. However, What A Warrior had other ideas, and best wishes to the […]

Burano bulldozes Scoop6 punters

Despite pumping more than £500,000 into the Scoop6 pools, punters were left empty-handed after Burano brought an end to proceedings in leg five.

Brian Meehan’s charge sunk the last five tickets and triggered a rollover of £503,914 in the win fund and £175,382 in the bonus.

With nearly £700,000 rolling over, the pools could feasibly hit £1m next weekend.

totepool spokesman Andrew Griffiths said: “Burano bulldozed this afternoon’s Scoop6, but his victory has laid the foundations for a potential £1m bet next weekend.”

Saturday’s favourite bet is expected to have £350,000 in the combined funds after last week’s incredible rollover.

Going into the final leg last Saturday there were 297 tickets remaining with the only horse not covered eventual winner Intransigent.

Quick Jack tops Cesarewitch betting following draw

Quick Jack tops the sponsor’s betting at 6/1 for the Betfred Cesarewitch after a maximum field of 34 was declared for the second leg of the autumn double at Newmarket on Saturday.

Connections of the favourite will be delighted with their draw in stall 12, as will supporters of Big Easy who will break from stall two and is 12/1 with Betfred.

Moidore is another to come out on the right side of the draw in gate four and is next in the betting at 14/1, ahead of a septet of horses at 16/1 including Swnymor, who has been drawn out wide in 34.

Betfred spokesman Andrew Griffiths said: “Punters have been piling into Quick Jack since the entries were revealed and they’ve been rewarded with a plum draw in stall 12.

“There should be no excuses for Big Easy and Moidore from […]

Quick Jack 6/1 to outrun Cesarewitch rivals

The sponsors have cut Quick Jack to 6/1 favourite (from 7/1) for the Betfred Cesarewitch after 52 horses were left in the race at the five-day stage.

Feared gambling trainer Tony Martin earmarked Saturday’s marathon for Quick Jack after his charge claimed a Galway handicap with ease in late July.

The market leader is the only horse in the sponsor’s list at single figures, with Big Easy next at 12/1 alongside Moidore, Ray Ward and Rhombus.

Saddler’s Rock currently tops the weights for Jonjo O’Neill and is priced at 25/1 with Betfred.

Betfred spokesman Andrew Griffiths said: “Quick Jack is trained by the man the bookies fear and everything points towards a big run on Saturday. He’s the best backed horse in the race and is already an ugly result in our ante-post book.”

Betfred to offer four places on Arc de Triomphe

Betfred will be paying out on four places on Sunday’s Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

The each-way concession will be available across all channels from 8am tomorrow morning.

Taghrooda remains the favourite with Betfred despite being eased to 5/1 (from 9/2) after drawing a less than ideal post in 15. The well-backed Ectot is hot on her heels at 11/2 and is likely to challenge for favouritism over the next 24 hours.

The French are well represented at the front of the betting and are 11/8 favourites in the winning nation market with Betfred. Japan has a strong team including Just A Way and is next at 5/2 ahead of Great Britain at 7/2.

Betfred spokesman Andrew Griffiths said: “At 5/1 the field the betting looks more like the Cambridgeshire than the Arc.

“It’s as open a renewal as we can recall so […]
